Data Anonymization

Data anonymization is the process by which the link between an individual and his or her data is erased, rendering the data unidentifiable. This process is non-reversible.

Unlike pseudonymization, this is a final process. No identification key that could link an individual to his or her data is generated.

Data anonymization is one of the recommended measures under GDPR to protect the personal data of individuals in Europe. Choosing to anonymize data is thus an ethical and legal safeguard to protect individuals and their data.
