Cross-site tracking

Cross-site tracking refers to the process of collecting the browsing data of users, hence enabling their identification from one website to another (especially using cookies).

This method is mostly used for profiling and advertising purposes such as retargeting, but can also be useful to follow a user’s path between two different domains that belong to the same entity (amazon.com and amazon.co.uk, for instance).
