Bounce

A bounce occurs when an internet user immediately leaves a website after viewing the page through which he reached the website in question. In that case, the website only counts one pageview and the user’s visit is deemed superficial.

The bounce rate is a commonly used metric in webanalytics, as it helps assess the effectiveness – or lack thereof – of a specific web page.

Bounce rate = number of bounce visits / total number of visits
