Ad fraud

Ad fraud is a cyber-criminal activity involving a wide range of techniques whose purpose is to falsify the distribution of an ad.

It mainly consists in using bots that artificially mimic user behaviour (views, clicks, traffic, or even page scrolling). By inflating performance indicators, ad fraud techniques aim to make brands pay more than they should, even though their ads are not even displayed to a real audience.
